Here is a wonderful opportunity to honor persons/businesses that go above and beyond what is expected, taking that extra step. From all the applications submitted, a finalist in each category will be
chosen and announced. The winners will receive their awards at the Chamber of Commerce annual banquet.

Nominations are due by Jan 4, 2010 and accepted for the following award categories:

  • Business of the Year: Candidate may have experienced recent physical expansion and jobs generating a positive impact on local economy, remodeled for aesthetic value, received industry award or recognition, positioned itself as a model for others to follow in the spirit of endeavor, and/or demonstrated support in Chamber/Community projects or activities. (Can be self-nominating)
  • V.I.P. (Volunteer In Partnership): Demonstrates involvement, in time commitments or monetary value, in a project that benefits the school or community. (Can be self nominating)
  • Ambassador of the Year: Candidate, who makes other members feel welcome, spreads goodwill within the Chamber, supports and encourages new members, and carries the spirit of the Chamber into the community.
  • Rookie of the Year: Candidate is a new member that demonstrates enthusiasm and active involvement in Chamber activities. (Can be self nominating)
  • Mayor's Beautification Award: This award is intended to give public recognition to those businesses that go the “extra-mile” in enhancing and beautifying their properties year round. All Chamber member businesses within the City’s limits qualify for submittal for consideration. Photos should accompany entries depicting specifics. Applications will be reviewed on overall appeal and neighborhood compatibility, seasonal appropriateness, originality, and curb appeal. Physical enhancements may be, but are not limited to, exterior renovations, landscaping, signage and seasonal decorations. The Chamber of Commerce will make recommendations to the Mayor and the Mayor will present the award at the annual Awards Banquet held by the Chamber of Commerce.
