  Mayor’s Beautification Award – Callen Construction

 
 

Callen Construction, Inc., a family-owned, award-winning, full-service home improvement and remodeling company in Muskego, which enhanced its business and our community when it expanded its showroom at S63 W13131 Janesville Road in 2006, received the Mayor’s Beautification Award.

The showroom, open to consumers seeking home remodeling ideas, features a complete line of interior and exterior home improvement products, including a wide variety of kitchen and bath vignettes, countertops, plumbing fixtures, wood and vinyl windows, entry and patio doors, cabinetry, skylights, roofing, gutter protection, siding, and more.

Design personnel are available to visitors during all hours of operation, as the full-scale interactive exhibits and static displays enable visitors to interact with and compare different surfaces and colors.

Callen Construction is a member of several home improvement and area associations, including the Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council, National Kitchen & Bath Association, the Metropolitan Builders Association Remodeler Council, Better Business Bureau, and the Muskego Area Chamber of Commerce.

 
   
  Business of the Year – A+ Mortgage

 
  A+ was recognized in INC Magazine “America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies” listing. They ranked #22 in the Top Companies in Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis and ranked #63 in the Top Companies in Real Estate. A+ Mortgage was established in 2000 and currently employs fifteen. Company revenues of $98.6 million in 2003 were realized and $239.3 million in 2006.  
   
  V.I.P. (Volunteer in Partnership Award) – InPro Corporation

 
  Formed in 1979, under the name of Institutional Products Corporation, the company now called InPro Corporation located in Muskego. At that time, the company was a distributor of high impact door and wall protection products, mainly to the health care industry. Over the years, InPro acquired additional companies creating new product divisions in a worldwide market. InPro has received numerous industry awards including recognition for its green building products. In addition to the company’s success, InPro has been a stellar community friend and neighbor by supporting ever aspect of the community. Most recently, InPro made contributions to the Chamber for the build out of its new office and marketing materials for the City’s economic development for which it is being recognized.  
   
  Ambassador of the Year – Jack Spoerl/Lincoln State Bank

 
  This individual has been a member of the chamber since June of 1980 and served on the board of directors for 23 years. After leaving the board, Jack Spoerl became part of the newly created Ambassador Club in 2003 and went on to win the 2006 membership drive with his team partner Chuck Azzolina. In 2006, Jack also created the Ambassador Goodwill Tour, which involves ambassadors visiting existing inactive members to make sure they are aware of benefits and programs the Chamber provides.  
   
  Rookie of the Year – Suzanne Barry/Max A. Sass & Son’s Funeral Services

 
  As a new representative for Max A. Sass & Sons, Suzanne effortlessly began networking at Chamber functions. She smoothly shifted into serving as an ambassador for the organization. Suzanne participated in her first membership drive this past January with great enthusiasm and was on the winning team for the membership drive.  
   
  Special Appreciation Award – Don Reidy/Reidy Tractor Services

 
  Presented to Don Reidy-Reidy Tractor Services for those extra and unselfish things he does in the best interest of the Chamber and City. Over the years Don’s passion has been to make Muskego a better place through an assertive economic development plan. He has served on the Mayor’s Economic Development Task Force through several mayors and talks up Muskego wherever he may be. Don is one of the business community’s strongest advocates for bringing new business to the area by networking and making the connection between parties.  
   
  Directors Award – Waukesha State Bank

 
  Each year the Chamber executive director gets to select a company or individual that has provided assistance to the overall office operation. As a non-profit organization it is always appreciated when additional assistance can be provided. This year Waukesha State Bank is being recognized for providing assistance in multiple instances. Bank employees kindly stuff golfer’ gift bags for our outing each year, assisted with achieving accuracy in our community guide and provided meeting space for the Board’s strategic planning sessions. And last but not least, bank manager, Steve Barry, freely took on chairmanship of the 2008 golf outing.  
   
  Youth Volunteer Scholarship Award – Alyssa McCormack

 
 

Alyssa McCormack, a senior at Muskego High School, has been selected to receive the Muskego Chamber $500 scholarship award for her service to the community. She serves as a volunteer at Muskego Health Care (nursing home); the religious department at St. Leonard's Church and serves meals to the home bound on the south side of Milwaukee.

Also added to her volunteer work is participation in the Medical Explorers organization coordinating students with doctors for job shadowing and writer for the school newspaper earning the National Press Association Award. Alyssa was also a state competitor for both track and tennis, member of the Spanish National Honor Society, National Honor Society, Science Club, Spanish Club, and MU Alpha Theta Match Club. With a grade point average of 4.075, ranked 7 out of 475, Alyssa’s focus is to achieve a career in the medical field beginning with Physician Assistant
