Business of the Year Award
The Chamber's Business of the Year Award is based on the following criteria community-at-large involvement, Chamber participation, being a business culture builder. These businesses were nominated by fellow Chamber members. The Business of the Year award is presented at the annual Awards Gala in March. The recipient receives a commemorative plaque and special recognition. All nominees will be recognized during the ceremony.
Congratulations to our 2025 Business of the Year: Matty's Bar & Grille.
Matt Andersen opened Matty’s Bar & Grille in 1997 and transformed a once-typical suburban sports bar into a destination spot for sports fans and foodies. Matty’s Bar & Grille along with Matty’s Catering are located on the shared border between Muskego and New Berlin. Matty’s team is committed to honest, superb service and they create a culture of extraordinary quality. This culture supports amazing events in their Big Backyard, events center, restaurant bar, and catering.
In recent years, Matty’s Bar & Grille established a 501c3 called “Matty’s Matters.” In 2025, they raised approximately $40,000 for local organizations through their fundraisers. This is part of their giving back effort to the community. These funds impact local organizations such as the Muskego Senior Taxi Service, Muskego Food Pantry, New Berlin Food Pantry, and New Berlin Fire Department as well as broader southeastern Wisconsin organizations such as the Dyslexia Foundation, Friends of MADACC, Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Ma and Pa Pet Rescue, Jr Pups n Stuff, and HAWS.
Matty’s sponsors numerous local sports teams in the Muskego, New Berlin, and Franklin School Districts and support them by providing the events center at discounted pricing for their events and then donating 10% of sales back to them. In 2025 they hosted an event that helped raise $30,000 for the Yacht Club. Additionally, they donated 3,000 plus items to events all around Wisconsin during the past year.
Matty's Bar & Grille belongs to three area Chamber of Commerce organizations. They are always happy to help the local Chamber members. In 2025, Matty's hosted the Muskego Area Chamber's Business After Hours Christmas Social. Their team overperformed and provided a wonderful spread far beyond the price we paid per person. (Note: It included Prime Rib. If you weren't there, you missed out!)
Nominations for this award consider positive actions that set a business apart and support an amazing culture for employees, clients, and the community-at-large. Culture is everything for owner Matt Anderson. Internally, he preaches and believes that the culture begins with employees and then permeates the external community. With the right people in the right positions, Matt has created a top employment location. Matty's has 300 active employees, and most are local citizens. While restaurants often struggle with their profit margin, Matty's makes it a point to be a business that is community first and sets a gold standard for other local businesses. They lead by example and are part of what makes Muskego a great place to live, work, and entertain.
Congratulations to our 2024 Business of the Year: DJ's Lawn Sprinklers.

DJ’s Lawn Sprinklers has served southeastern Wisconsin for thirty-two years with installation and maintenance of high-quality irrigation systems. In 2019, DJ’s Lawn Sprinklers purchased and updated business property in Muskego. Their business owners immediately engaged in our community and have consistently supported the advancement of growth in the business community and community-at-large.
As an on-going sponsor for the Muskego Warriors Shooting Team, DJ’s Lawn Sprinklers supports the fundraising efforts, education, practice, and teamwork that propelled this Muskego youth club to win several awards during their 2024 season. These include:
- Third in 2024 Nationals Open Doubles Squad
- Fourth in 2024 Nationals High School
- 2024 State Champions in Varsity Trap and Doubles Trap
In addition, DJ’s Lawn Sprinklers supports workforce development efforts through Muskego High School Connect Academy by offering student internships that promote student participation and education among the trades.
DJ’s Lawn Sprinklers has invested effort, time, and resources in the Muskego Area Chamber of Commerce by participating in its Board of Directors, Events Committee, and Economic Development projects. In 2024, owner Eric Huckstorf dedicated numerous volunteer hours to help organize and implement the Jammin’ in the Park community event. Eric is also passionate about community growth and actively creates opportunities for employment. Throughout 2024, he has been a lead voice of support for economic development in the Muskego area as he dedicated time to research and develop opportunities that support future businesses in this community.
CAM Tech, Inc. was awarded because owner Joseph Kreuser takes an extremely active role in promoting the Chamber’s mission to support local and small businesses. Joe’s business does not receive direct benefits from these activities, yet he has a drive to help create a strong community. He is always positive, shares thought provoking ideas, promotes small businesses, has great community awareness, and generously donates his time, efforts, and resources to many organizations, start up businesses, and young entrepreneurs. This year’s recipient is well-deserving of the award for the great impact made on the Chamber specifically and the business community at large.

The Lodge Muskego was awarded for being quite active in both the community and Chamber. Their representatives are concerned and hands-on toward creating a healthy community. They encourage other businesses to do the same and are always willing to help make the community a better place. They received multiple nominations citing their support of other businesses, the community, and the Chamber’s mission through volunteer work and any opportunity to help us be a better place. The Chamber staff appreciate the extra work their representative has done among our committees, especially the Jammin’ on Janesville committee.

Indian Motorcycle of Metro Milwaukee received this award for their continual support and engagement within our community, especially in supporting important causes that make our community better. Their team cares deeply about our community and supports other businesses, organizations, and entities with volunteer work, donations, sponsorships, and fundraisers. Through a phenomenal fundraiser last year, this business raised an astounding $40,000 for the Tess Corners Fire Department to purchase much needed, life-saving equipment. This is by no means a one-time scenario as they have raised funds for many other important causes.
