Milk Can Hamburgers & Frozen Custard started as a food truck in 2019 and opened a brick and mortar location in 2021. The goal was to bring something unique to Muskego.

Please give a brief history of your business.

The Oschmann family moved to Muskego in 1957 and opened the Aud Mar Supper Club on Bass Bay in 1958. Audrey and Marty were the original owners. After reopening as Bass Bay Brewhouse in 2015, the family and core team began nourishing the idea of a burger and custard joint. Family is the core of this community and the Oschmanns are blessed to bring a third generation family owned business to our neighbors in Muskego.

In what way does your business impact our community?

Milk Can offers a unique burger and custard concept--something more than another fast food chain. Their goal is to deliver locally sourced, from scratch products that are presented to guests with genuine hospitality. Milk Can Hamburgers does everything they can to give back to Muskego.

Their team recognizes the tight knit community of Muskego and the partnership of local businesses through the Muskego Chamber of Commerce. Participating in events like Jammin' on Janesville highlights not only the Milk Can restaurant but neighboring businesses, also.

Tell us unique things about your business, such as awards you've received, special products you offer, or cool employee stories.

The restaurant operates a from scratch kitchen! All burgers are smashed to order.  All sauces and dressings, and soups are made in house. They even pickle their own veggies (including the pickles)!

Custard is churned in house and fresh bakery items are available. Milk Can also serves alcoholic beverages.

What do you love about Muskego?

Current owner, Ryan, graduated from Muskego High School in 2002 and the family continues to enjoy Muskego life. Over the years, they received an overflowing amount of support from the community and guests. This allowed continued growth and brought them to the today's brand: Milk Can Hamburgers & Frozen Custard (on Janesville Road), Bass Bay Brewhouse (on Aud Mar Drive), and Milk Can Diner (in Greendale).

Located on the west side of Muskego, Wisco Carts offers a unique product to the community: golf carts. George and Dan greet you in their showroom and are ready  to make your cart shopping (or repair) experience enjoyable.

Please give a brief history of your business.

A number of years ago, we found our passion while working in our garage--that passion was golf carts. We launched Wisco Carts in August of 2020.

In what way does your business impact our community?

We are careful in our customer approach for both sales and service, which means there is never pressure to buy.

We joined the Muskego Chamber soon after opening because we believe in community. When other local businesses support organizations and events with us, our entire community gets stronger.

Tell us unique things about your business, such as awards you've received, special products you offer, or cool employee stories.

We are a certified dealer for new EZGO & Evolution golf carts & LSV. We sell used carts and provide full service for most makes and models. We take trade ins and offer affordable financing on new purchases.

In 2021, the City of Muskego passed an ordinance that allows golf carts and Low Speed Vehicles on the road. We offer guidance on purchases that makes sense and fit within the ordinance. Because of  trade ins and our partnerships with EZGO & Evolution, we are rarely out of stock.

What do you love about Muskego?

Dan is a life-long Muskego resident and George is a transplant to the community. Both are happy living here and take pride in supporting local groups and events.

Fabulous food, great beverages, and a fun atmosphere with entertainment for the family offers Muskego residents a community gathering place. We regularly donate to area charitable events and raffles because we want to give back to our community.

As a Chamber member, we participate in networking events and hosted functions.  Jammin' on Janesville is real treat and allows us to be involved in the community. Through these opportunities, we expand our reach to Muskego residents who may not know we are here.

Jim and David are business partners and local representatives of Schooley Mitchell. They recently joined the Muskego Chamber, but have lived and worked in the Muskego/New Berlin communities for quite some time. Both representatives are thrilled to work in business to business (B2B) consulting. We chatted with Jim to learn what they offer.

Please give a brief history of your business.

Schooley Mitchell was established in 1997 with the mission of helping businesses save money! Lower costs and expenses directly result in a more profitable business, allowing business owners/managers to serve their community successfully.

In what way does your business impact our community?

We provide consulting services to local businesses. By analyzing their expenses, we help identify billing inaccuracies or errors so they can reduce costs. This service is performed on a contingency basis. If the business agrees with our findings and recommendations, we help implement solutions and then offer regular review to ensure their systems are optimized.

Our revenue is based on a portion of the savings we achieve for that business, meaning there is no risk and only an opportunity for the business to save money from our services. Schooley Mitchell is an independent consulting firm and our services do not include outside vendors.

Tell us unique things about your business, such as awards you've received, special products you offer, or cool employee stories.

Our goal is to help businesses save money and our numbers prove it. Nationally, we have produced over $520 million in documented savings for more than 26,000 clients.

What do you love about Muskego?

As a B2B business, we enjoy networking and connecting with other business members in the Muskego Chamber of Commerce.

As a 19-year resident of Muskego whose children attend Muskego-Norway schools, I (Jim) enjoy supporting local businesses. I know Muskego is a tight-knit community with long-term residents and business owners who have deep ties to the community. Consulting allows me to help strengthen those ties.

In what way does participation with other Chamber businesses help your business?

Being part of the Muskego Chamber has been the best thing for our branch. I am meeting new people regularly and building relationships with people I see at events. The chamber is very involved and helps promote our business.

Tell us unique things about your business, such as awards you've received, special products you offer, or cool employee stories.

North Shore holds an annual Wrap Up Rally for their branch employees. Throughout the year, employees are given goals to meet or exceed per their role. At the end of the year, top performers receive awards. As a Branch Manager, I have the opportunity to win a vacation if awarded top manager of the bank. I have won this award every year since becoming manager in 2018. In my Muskego branch, each employee role has been awarded top performer along with our location being named Branch of the Year.

What do you love about Muskego?

My family moved to Muskego in 2003. I love that everyone knows everyone in Muskego. It's like a big family here. I graduated from Muskego High, live in Muskego, and work in Muskego. I enjoy being so close to the lake and the country feeling that is here. I also love how involved Muskego's businesses and citizens are in the community. Our mayor is well known, keeps us well informed of current events, and is very approachable.
